Prince Harry<\/a> has reportedly not given up hope of one day bringing his wife Meghan<\/a>, Duchess of Sussex, and their two children back to the UK\ufeff, despite previously vowing not to.<\/p>\n

A report in Page Six<\/a> said a friend of Prince Harry reportedly told The Sunday Times he hoped to one day bring his wife and two children<\/a> to the UK, despite losing his high-profile case around security.<\/p>\n

“He’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK,” the friend reportedly said.<\/p>\n

“He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up.<\/p>\n

“He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.”<\/p>\n

This is an about-face from the Duke of Sussex’s comments earlier this year that he could not “see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point”.<\/p>\n

The Duchess of Sussex has not set foot in the UK since September 2022, while the couple’s children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, have not been in the UK since June that year, when the couple attended the late Queen’s \ufeffplatinum jubilee celebrations.<\/p>\n

Prince Archie was born in England in May 2019 and spent the first months of his life at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, before the family fled the UK for a new life in the US at the start of 2020.<\/p>\n

Princess Lilibet was born after the family settled in Montecito, California, and has only been to her father’s homeland once.<\/p>\n

The family travelled to the UK in June 2022 for the late Queen’s \ufeffplatinum jubilee celebrations.<\/p>\n

During the visit, they introduced Lili to family members, including the queen, and even held a first birthday party for the tot at Frogmore Cottage, however no senior members of the royal family attended the party.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry has previously stated it is not safe for his wife and children to visit the UK because of security concerns.<\/p>\n

At the crux of the matter is a February 2020 decision relating to the security arrangements for the Duke of Sussex after he quit being a fulltime working member of the royal family and moved to the US.<\/p>\n

He challenged the February 2020 decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) \u2013 which falls under the Home Office.<\/p>\n

His legal team had said the decision to not give him the “same degree” of personal protective security when visiting the UK as he received in the past, as set out in a letter to him, was invalid due to “procedural unfairness” of the matter.<\/p>\n

A full High Court hearing to review his claim saw Judge Peter Lane rule that the decision to provide “bespoke” security to Prince Harry on an as-needed basis wasn’t unlawful, irrational or unjustified.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry later appealed the decision but learnt in May this year he was unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHe later gave an interview to the BBC in which he said, “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point”.<\/p>\n

During the same interview, he sensationally claimed his father, King Charles, “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff” but said he would “love a reconciliation” with his family as he did not know “how much longer my father has” to live.<\/p>\n

In the interview, which sent shockwaves throughout the world\ufeff, he also said he felt saddened that “I won’t be able to show my children my homeland” and they would miss out on everything he loved about the UK.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry will attend the WellChild Awards in London later today.<\/p>\n

The event coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.<\/p>\n

Harry and \ufeffMeghan were in London and were scheduled to attend the 2022 WellChild Awards but pulled out after the Queen’s death was announced.<\/p>\n

They delayed their return to the US until after the Queen’s funeral.<\/p>\n
