Paris 2024 Olympian Jaismine Lamboria stormed into the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Championships 2025<\/a> with a 5-0 win over Pan American Games champion Jucielen Cerqueira Romeu of Brazil in Liverpool on Monday.<\/p>\n

Competing in the women\u2019s 57kg division, Jaismine once again dominated the Brazilian, whom she had also beaten for gold at the World Boxing Cup in Astana earlier this year.<\/p>\n

World Boxing Cup silver medallist Abhinash Jamwal also impressed, outclassing Mexico\u2019s Hugo Barron 5-0 in his men\u2019s 65kg second-round bout to keep India\u2019s campaign rolling.<\/p>\n

However, there were setbacks for the Indian camp. Sakshi bowed out in the women\u2019s 54kg after a 5-0 defeat to Turkiye\u2019s Hatice Akba, while Sanamacha Chanu lost by the same margin to Kazakhstan\u2019s Natalya Bogdanova.<\/p>\n

Later on Monday, four Indian boxers<\/a> will fight for quarter-final berths.<\/p>\n

Sachin (men\u2019s 60kg) against Kazakhstan\u2019s Biibars Zhexen, Sumit (men\u2019s 75kg) versus Bulgaria\u2019s Rami Kiwan, Narender (men\u2019s 90+ kg) against Italy\u2019s Diego Lenzi, and Neeraj Phogat (women\u2019s 65kg) against England\u2019s Sacha Hickey.<\/p>\n

India have sent a 20-member squad to the inaugural World Boxing Championships, which features over 550 boxers from more than 65 nations, including 17 Paris 2024 medallists.<\/p>\n

Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain<\/a> endured a disappointing return to the international ring with a second-round exit in the women\u2019s 75kg on Saturday.<\/p>\n
