The staff for Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers<\/a>, the new sequel anime<\/a> of the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers series, announced more of the cast for the previously teased<\/a> Samurai Troopers in a new teaser promotional video on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

The anime will premiere in January 2026.<\/p>\n

The anime stars Hiiro Ishibashi<\/a> as Gai.<\/p>\n

Y\u014dichi Fujita<\/a> (Gintama<\/a>, Mr. Osomatsu<\/a>) is directing the new anime at Sunrise<\/a>. Sh\u014dgo Mut\u014d<\/a> (Crows Zero<\/a>) is supervising and writing the series scripts. Hajime Yatate<\/a>, the collective penname for the creative staff at Sunrise, is credited with the original story. The character designers include Y\u016bhei Murota<\/a> (Love Live!<\/a>) for main characters, Tsukasa Kotoboki (MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM THE ORIGIN MSD Cucuruz Doan’s Island<\/a>) for villains, Hideo Okamoto<\/a> (Yoroiden Samurai Troopers) for the original Yoroi Gear designs, and Takuya Suzuki<\/a> (Brave King GaoGaiGar Final Grand Glorious Gathering<\/a>) for the Yoroi Gear designs in animation. Sh\u016bji Katayama<\/a> (Overlord) is composing the music.<\/p>\n

The new anime takes place in present-day Shinjuku and tells the story of five boys who don Yoroi Gear samurai armor to fight the demon emperor Arago.<\/p>\n

Sunrise created the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers<\/a>) action television anime in 1988-1989, and Cartoon Network<\/a> ran it as Ronin Warriors in the United States. Bandai Entertainment<\/a> previously released the series on DVD, and Discotek Media<\/a> released<\/a> the full series on DVD with English subtitles in 2015. Discotek also released the Samurai Troopers OVA<\/a> series with both English and Japanese audio. Crunchyroll<\/a> is streaming<\/a> the anime.
