The stars of Brassic have teased that the final season<\/a> will be ‘higher stakes’ with a “harrowing” last episode.<\/p>\n

It was announced earlier this year that the upcoming seventh season will be the last<\/a>, although Michelle Keegan was quick to state that it’s a “natural end”<\/a> for the show rather than being cancelled ahead of its time.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Digital Spy at tonight’s National Television Awards<\/a> (NTAs), stars Ryan Sampson (Tommo) and Tom Hanson (Cardi) stated that the show will be raising the bar for its final episodes \u2014 and that it might not be goodbye forever.<\/p>\n

“It’s a lot more like high-stakes, horrific drama going on,” Sampson said. “The last episode, spoiler alert, is harrowing. It’s harrowing. It’s gonna get dark, but it’s fun. It’s crazy.”<\/p>\n

Two weeks ahead of the season 7 premiere<\/a>, Sampson also teased that there’s a holiday episode featured in the season that’s unexpected but “really fun”.<\/p>\n

The actor went on to say that it was “proper weird” saying goodbye to the show: “It’s strange that [the cast] can all see each other but I’ll never see those characters again.”<\/p>\n

“It’s a long period of our lives that we spent together,” Hanson added, saying that he and Sampson even became next-door neighbours for a time.<\/p>\n

“So proud of everything we did,” Hanson continued. “Who knows what will happen in the future? Genuinely, I don’t but hopefully the door will always be open. Be interesting to see what they’re like in 20 years.”<\/p>\n

Although the two actors said that the choice wasn’t up to them, they felt like there’s always going to be an option to return multiple times, mentioning British comedy-drama Cold Feet as an example.<\/p>\n

“I’d like there to be a film at some point,” Sampson concluded. <\/p>\n

“And I wouldn’t say that about everything, by the way. I didn’t realise how much people love it. It’s beautiful.”<\/p>\n

Brassic season 7 is set to premiere on 25 September on Sky Max and NOW.<\/p>\n
