the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Round of 16.<\/p>\n<p>Coming into the weekend, SVG is 15 points short of the cutoff, with numerous permutations of points in play.<\/p>\n<p>Also on the outside prior to the race is Austin Dillon, some 11 points behind the cut line, while Alex Bowman (-35 points) and Josh Berry (-45) are essentially in must-win positions.<\/p>\n<p>While pressure will be on van Gisbergen to put his best foot forward, drama for those above the cut line could impact his post-season prospects.<\/p>\n<p>On a track where carnage can strike at any time, those current in will need to race carefully.<\/p>\n<p>Currently placed inside the top-12 are Christopher Bell, +32, Chase Elliot, +28, Joey Logano, +21, Ross Chastain, +19 and Austin Cindric, +11.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/svgs-unmissable-livery-for-must-perform-bristol\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">For the event, van Gisbergen will sport an eye-catching Wendy\u2019s livery.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year at the venue, he finished 38th after contact from Cody Ware, while last year in the Xfinity Series, he placed 18th.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-18-scale-2019-bathurst-1000-97-holden-commodore-zb-van-gisbergen-tander-model-pre-order?utm_source=SRBuyButton&amp;utm_medium=website\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" Gisbergen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really struggled there in the spring, and it\u2019s a tough track for someone like me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be important to have a clean, well-executed race, try and get stage points and be up there all night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a battle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The last two weeks of the Playoffs have been tough for the three-time Supercars champion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/tough-nascar-playoff-opener-for-van-gisbergen\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">After finishing 31st at Darlington<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/spin-and-penalty-cruel-svgs-run-at-gateway\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">last week at Gateway, he registered a 25th-place finish.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been good,\u201d reflected van Gisbergen. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wish, obviously, that we could\u2019ve gotten better results the last two races.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be tough this weekend to get through, but the reality is we aren\u2019t there yet on ovals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s coming, but we are just forcing it too quickly at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Australian time, qualifying will be contested on Saturday ahead of Sunday morning\u2019s race.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SHANE van
