Lucas Bergvall has been speaking to the Swedish media about his game time at Tottenham at the start of the season and how he finds working with Thomas Frank.<\/p>\n

The teenager would have been forgiven for thinking that football at the highest level is easy after Bergvall swept all of Tottenham\u2019s end-of-season awards<\/a> in his first season at the Premier League club.<\/p>\n

However, Spurs<\/a> have strengthened their midfield with the arrivals of Joao Palhinha<\/a> and Xavi Simons<\/a> this summer, with competition for a place in the side getting sterner.<\/p>\n

Bergvall has started just one of four games this season, but the midfielder is not worried about his role under the new Tottenham head coach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Ange Postecoglou, the Swede had a coach last season who was not shy of trusting youth and throwing them in the deep end.<\/p>\n

Frank works a little differently, but Bergvall<\/a> is confident that he has the Dane\u2019s backing, pointing out that he has come on as a substitute in all of the games he has not started.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old told Fotbollskanalen<\/a>\u00a0about the new Spurs boss: \u201cThomas is a good coach. It\u2019s just a matter of continuing on the path from last spring. Then I got an ankle injury. Now it\u2019s good, and I want to get back to that level and just continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked whether the former Brentford manager believes in him, Bergvall responded: \u201cYes, absolutely. I\u2019ve had to play almost every match. It\u2019s just a matter of continuing like I did in the spring season.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bergvall is looking forward to playing in the Champions League<\/p>\n

Tottenham\u2019s Champions League campaign kicks off in less than a week<\/a>, with the Lilywhites hosting Villarreal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The North Londoners are back in Europe\u2019s premier club tournament after a two-year absence, but it will be the first taste of the competition for many players in the squad, including Bergvall.<\/p>\n

When asked about playing in the Champions League, the midfielder said: \u201cIt will be incredibly fun to play in the Champions League. Incredibly fun. I\u2019m incredibly grateful, and it\u2019s fun that I got to do it after the first season.\u201d<\/p>\n
