Every time Jessica Gomes returns home to Perth<\/a>, she feels a wave of nostalgia wash over her as she relishes WA\u2019s \u201cfresh air and long, hot summer days\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Sydney-born but Perth-raised model has returned to her roots to headline a spring-summer fashion soiree at Claremont Quarter on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The cocktail party style event will showcase the latest looks of the season, where Gomes will chat with guests about her fashion style, beauty and her love for Perth.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old, who lives in Byron Bay, said she loved coming home and often spends summer holidays catching up with her family, who still reside here.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just love the clear blue skies here, and the open air. And it just feels like home, this is where I grew up. So it\u2019s very nostalgic,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do miss the beaches. We have really beautiful beaches, and they\u2019re very quiet and they feel very kind of isolated. And that\u2019s what I love. I love that it\u2019s so clean and fresh here, and I miss those really long, hot summer days, like 40 degrees, and then the wind sets in.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I love Cottesloe, hanging out with my friends, and I think that\u2019s kind of what I miss most, is summers here.\u201d<\/p>\n

The internationally-recognised model, who has appeared in Sports Illustrated eight times, has been modelling since she was 10-years-old and credits Perth with helping to shape her decades-long career that she never dreamed would take her around the globe.<\/p>\n

Gomes moved to Greenmount Hill when she was three years old and soon found a passion for the creative industry by doing local fashion shows and TV<\/a> commercials.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a fashion community that I was a part of throughout school, so I already felt like I was in the industry for a while, until I went overseas, and got signed to an international agency, and I went to Asia and New York,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s kind of interesting. I feel like I am like a child model, you know, now, like a child actor, like I started really young, I kind of was already building my skill set, so it feels like I\u2019ve just been in this industry my whole life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love the creativity. I love the freedom. I love that I\u2019ve been able to travel the world. I love the different people that I\u2019ve been able to meet. I love that you never know where it\u2019s going to take you, as much as that\u2019s also scary.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think it\u2019s been a good ride for me, and I feel like it\u2019s such a blessing, and it\u2019s so amazing to come back and to be working for Claremont Quarter, and such an iconic kind of staple in Perth. Obviously, I just feel really excited to be back and fronting a big shopping precinct like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

CQ Summer Soiree with Jessica Gomes will take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on level two at Claremont Quarter outside the Country Road store.<\/p>\n
