Dave Cameron<\/a> has spoken publicly for the first time since stepping down as Chief Content Officer<\/a> at Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), marking the end of a career with the company that spanned more than three decades.<\/p>\n

In a LinkedIn post shared today, Cameron described the move as a \u201cfactory reset\u201d following a 32-year run with the network, including the past five years at the helm of its content division.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve now stepped down from the role of Chief Content Officer at SCA, a role I\u2019m incredibly proud to have done at full-force for over 5 years,\u201d Cameron wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s been particularly great seeing the growth of some of the newer breakfast shows in the last year starting to pop \u2014 patience is a virtue in this industry!\u201d<\/p>\n

Referencing today\u2019s radio ratings (Survey 4, 2025)<\/a>, he noted the irony that strong results across the network would be his last, quipping: \u201cLet\u2019s be honest, no one will remember Survey 4, 2025 data in about a day\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Cameron used the post to thank his content leadership team and colleagues across SCA and the broader media industry, expressing hope that his time in the role had helped \u201cdevelop and mentor great new leadership\u201d and influence career paths for \u201cnew on- and off-air talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also hinted at future plans beyond the industry, saying: \u201cNow, to a factory reset with some downtime where I\u2019ll sharpen up some tools again.\u201d<\/p>\n

While noting he\u2019s looking forward to more family time, he joked: \u201cI\u2019ve suddenly become far less exciting to my kids now that Dad is no longer the bearer of concert ticket fruit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Signing off with a photo of himself as a teenager, Cameron described himself as \u201caudio and media\u2019s biggest and hungriest student\u201d and said he will return to the industry \u201cat the right time\u201d for a \u201cnext gritty challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n
