\n On August 20, Pete Punk officially opened Healing Hands at 10a, in the Marketplace, offering Reiki and holistic healing sessions for both people and animals.\n<\/p>\n
\n Pete, well-known locally for his distinctive style,\u00a0has lived in Hexham for 37 years. Trained in both traditional and non-traditional Reiki, as well as Sekhem, an Egyptian form of hands-on healing, he brings more than 25 years\u2019 experience to his new practice.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Reiki is a Japanese form of hands-on healing, but you don\u2019t always need to touch the person or animal,” Pete said.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It\u2019s about channelling universal life force energy. I\u2019ve seen it transform lives, from relieving back and joint pain to helping with stress, anxiety, and sleep problems.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It saved my life; if I hadn’t found Reiki, I wouldn’t\u00a0be talking to you now.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Pete inside the Healing Hands studio. (Image: Supplied) Pete says his best success story was a ‘miracle’ with a friend’s dog\u00a0named Marnie, who, before seeing Pete, was due to be put down by a vet after damaging its back.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The vet had said to my friend, ‘There’s nothing we can do.’ I saw it, and within 10 minutes, I had it back on its feet.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Marnie now gallops at over 100 miles an hour; my friend\u00a0can’t believe it,\u00a0it’s like she’s\u00a0been reborn.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Sessions at Healing Hands typically last around half an hour, with treatments priced at \u00a345 for people and \u00a330 for animals. Pete also incorporates crystal healing into his work, which he says can help clients carry ‘positive energy’ around with them.\n<\/p>\n
\n While he recognises that some remain sceptical, Pete says the proof is often in the experience.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The people most surprised are usually the ones who didn\u2019t believe in it to begin with,”\u00a0Pete added.\n<\/p>\n
