The Houston Rockets still have plenty of assets to offer for Jaylen Brown if the Celtics make him available before the trade deadline. The Rockets acquired Kevin Durant in a blockbuster deal<\/a> at a discount. Houston is ready to win now<\/a>, and head coach Ime Udoka already has a strong relationship with Brown<\/a>. This could be the perfect move that makes them annual title contenders. <\/p>\n

Brown won Finals MVP in 2024 and is an elite bucket-getter. The Rockets’ offensive questions would instantly vanish. Durant and Brown would be one of the best scoring duos in the league, and Houston would have a ton of young talent around them. The Rockets were second in the Western Conference last season before losing in the opening round of the playoffs. Getting two stars completely changes their things and could make them the title favorite. <\/p>\n

The Celtics aren\u2019t selling low on Brown, but they may be open to a deal. Boston wants to reset their spending and dip below the luxury tax with Jayson Tatum sidelined. They have shed salary, but are still $12 million over the tax. This could save them money and get a massive haul of assets to reshape their roster for the 2026-27 season. <\/p>\n

Rockets should offer this trade package for Jaylen Brown before the deadline<\/p>\n

Trades are complicated in the new cap environment. This deal needs a third team and would have multiple moving pieces. The trade wouldn\u2019t happen until closer to the deadline, as several players have trade restrictions until Dec. 15 or Jan. 15. Once those are clear, business will open, and the Rockets may chase another superstar. <\/p>\n

The Celtics would be focused on getting pieces that could help them in the 2026-27 season and contracts they could move to save more money. This trade cuts $1.6 million off their books and gives them Fred VanVleet\u2019s $25 million deal. Boston may be able to dodge the tax by sending him to a contender looking for a veteran point guard to help lead their charge. <\/p>\n

This would be seismic. The Nets helped facilitate the eight-player deal to get their 2027 first-rounder back from Houston. Here is a look at the details. <\/p>\n

Three first-round draft picks and four rotation players are a massive haul. Aaron Holiday would be the lone point guard on the Rockets\u2019 roster after his trade, but they should have plenty of playmaking with Durant, Alperen Sengun, and Amen Thompson flanking Brown. This would be choosing star talent over depth. Something the Rockets could regret in the playoffs. <\/p>\n

This would create a physical team that could bully every opponent. They\u2019d have size and skill across the board and are one shot-creating perimeter defender away from overtaking the Thunder. <\/p>\n

Teams only get so many chances to acquire a star, and the Rockets need to take it if it comes. Brown is 28 years old and in the middle of his prime. It extends their championship window. This is a no-brainer for all sides. All the general managers have to do is get it done.<\/p>\n

The Houston Rockets have draft capital and young talent to make a blockbuster trade. This front office continues to put together an impressive roster, but there are no guarantees. Coach Udoka would love this move, and that may be all it takes for the Rockets to make the call.
