{"id":135466,"date":"2025-09-11T15:06:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-11T15:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/135466\/"},"modified":"2025-09-11T15:06:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T15:06:11","slug":"just-in-klaus-makelas-girlfriend-lands-new-job","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/135466\/","title":{"rendered":"Just in: Klaus M\u00e4kel\u00e4&#8217;s girlfriend lands new job"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>norman lebrecht<\/p>\n<p>September 10, 2025<\/p>\n<p>Ever since he <a href=\"https:\/\/slippedisc.com\/2024\/01\/is-this-the-end-for-yuja-and-klaus\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">parted from Yuja<\/a> Wang, the multi-job Finnish conductor has been going out with a Norwegian violinist Amanda H\u00e5\u00f8y Horn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/slippedisc.com\/2025\/05\/klaus-makela-makes-his-and-her-luthier-purchase\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amanda has been deputising<\/a> in the strings of the Oslo Philharmonic.<\/p>\n<p>Now she has landed a new job as second violin of the long-established Engeg\u00e5rd Quartet, which is entering its 20th season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/amanda-makela.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-793010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/amanda-makela.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"183\" height=\"275\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>She says: \u2018From the very first moment with the Engeg\u00e5rd Quartet, I felt among kindred spirits, with the same love for quartet-playing and the string quartet repertoire. It is a gift to join a group which has found its united voice, and the fact that Norwegian and Scandinavian<br \/>music\u2014including folk, classical, and contemporary\u2014are an important part of the quartet\u2019s profile makes me feel at home in more<br \/>ways than one.
