The integration is expected to be announced within weeks, with subscription pricing for Office&#8217;s AI tools remaining unchanged, the report says.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft maintains that its OpenAI relationship remains intact. &#8220;As we&#8217;ve said, OpenAI will continue to be our partner on frontier models and we remain committed to our long-term partnership,&#8221; a Microsoft spokesperson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/microsoft-use-some-ai-anthropic-shift-openai-information-reports-2025-09-09\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told Reuters<\/a> following the report. The tech giant has poured over $13 billion into OpenAI to date and is currently negotiating terms for continued access to OpenAI&#8217;s models amid <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/ai\/2025\/06\/openai-weighs-nuclear-option-of-antitrust-complaint-against-microsoft\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ongoing negotiations<\/a> about their partnership terms.<\/p>\n<p>Stretching back to 2019, Microsoft&#8217;s tight partnership with OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/ai\/2025\/07\/agi-may-be-impossible-to-define-and-thats-a-multibillion-dollar-problem\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">until recently<\/a> gave the tech giant a head start in AI assistants based on language models, allowing for a rapid (though <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/ai\/2024\/11\/join-ars-live-nov-19-to-dissect-microsofts-rogue-ai-experiment\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">bumpy<\/a>) deployment of OpenAI-technology-based features in Bing search and the rollout of Copilot assistants throughout its software ecosystem.
