The Princess of Wales<\/a> stepped out at a mill on the first of two engagements on Thursday for the royal.<\/p>\n

Suiting up for the day of textiles visits, the 43-year-old wore a tailored grey check two-piece with a black tee underneath for a trip to Sudbury Silk Mills.<\/p>\n

Kate<\/a> also displayed lighter coloured hair again, days after appearing to have a darker do<\/a>, making it likely her new “Bronde” look<\/a> is more about lighting than the highlights themselves.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales’ outing comes hours after her estranged brother-in-law\ufeff, Prince Harry, met with his father King Charles for the first time in 19 months<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex is expected to leave the UK today following a panel discussion with members of youth involved in The Diana Awards in London this morning (evening AEST).<\/p>\n

It brings to an end Prince Harry’s four-day visit for his various charities, having not met with Prince William and Kate during the trip.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The couple who live just outside of London, in Windsor, have been keeping busy with their own engagements while Prince Harry’s been in town.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffOn Wednesday, Prince William was out and about in Cardiff, Wales, while his brother was in London.<\/p>\n

Today, Kate took a trip to Sudbury in Suffolk and will then head to in Cuxton in Kent to visit a second textile mill.<\/p>\n

Marina Mill is a family business that specialises in hand designing and screen-printing furnishing fabrics.<\/p>\n

During Kate’s first stop she was all smiles as she heard about the family-run weaving mill that’s been at the forefront of jacquard weaving and the British textiles industry for more than 300 years.<\/p>\n

On arrival, she greeted her former private secretary – and one of Prince George’s godfathers – Jamie Lowther Pinkerton, now \ufeffLord Lieutenant of Suffolk, with a hug.<\/p>\n

After touring their archives, the Princess met with staff and saw looms at work to produce the fabric exclusively for three textile companies for use across fashion and interior design.<\/p>\n

Kate even got involved on the factory floor, pressing buttons on machinery as instructed by her guides.<\/p>\n

As the princess left the mill, she posed for a group shot before shaking hands with the many well-wishers gathered outside.<\/p>\n

There was even a group of local school children waving flags, whom the mum-of-three spent time chatting with.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffIt’s understood the royal spoke to them about their return to school for the start of the British school year.<\/p>\n

During her next stop, Kate was shown the process of traditional silk screen methods used to design on fabric, before trying her hand at it.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales meant business, popping her long locks into a low bun, showing her gold and diamond hoops underneath.<\/p>\n

The royal also took off her suit jacket and popped an apron over her top.<\/p>\n

The princess also spent time with Design Director Tandine Rawkins, and see how she free-hand sketches all the artwork for every design.<\/p>\n

They’re then developed into repeating patterns, before they’re engraved on silk screens.\ufeff<\/p>\n
