The awards night was hosted by comedian Sapan Verma, who recently shared a clip from his opening monologue. True to his style, he delivered a rib-tickling roast\u2014teasing Aamir for his non-stop promotions of &#8216;Sitaare Zameen Par&#8217; and taking a witty dig at Abhishek&#8217;s spirited battles with trolls on Twitter.Sapan\u2019s hilarious dig at Aamir KhanAs seen in the video, Sapan is seen joking about Khan\u2019s several interviews before &#8216;Sitaare Zameen Par&#8217; could hit cinemas. With his signature wit, he quipped, \u201cAamir Khan, as we all know, was so good this year in all the 450 interviews he did to promote &#8216;Sitaare Zameen Par&#8217;. Sir, you did so much promotion that at one point I got worried\u2014when my doorbell rang, I thought you had personally come to tell me to watch the film.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Aamir Khan Opens Up: &#8216;Father\u2019s Struggles Made Me Fear Producing Films&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Aamir\u2019s YouTube-first gambleAs mentioned by News18, it was reported that the actor was offered Rs 120 crore by a streaming platform to buy the OTT rights of &#8216;Sitaare Zameen Par&#8217;. Instead, he surprised everyone by choosing a YouTube-first release. Reacting to this decision during his set, Sapan called it a \u201chistoric move\u201d and joked that turning down over Rs 100 crore was no small feat and further stated that this much amount is what Akshay Kumar makes in a month.Meanwhile, Sapan also hilariously took a playful swing at Junior Bachchan. He said that it has been a very special year for the \u2018Housefull 5\u2019 actor. \u201cYou completed 25 years in the industry. 25 years, out of which Abhishek spent 15 years acting in theatrical films. About 7 years acting in OTT films for about 7 years. And 3 years fighting with trolls on Twitter,&#8221; said Sapan.Awards nightKhan was honoured with the prestigious Excellence in Cinema Award at IFFM 2025. His film saw him starring opposite Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles.
