{"id":137466,"date":"2025-09-12T10:22:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T10:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/137466\/"},"modified":"2025-09-12T10:22:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T10:22:09","slug":"two-men-charged-with-murder-allegedly-involved-in-second-fatal-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/137466\/","title":{"rendered":"Two men charged with murder allegedly involved in second fatal shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Two men are facing charges over the alleged murders of two people and the attempted murder of a third in a spate of separate incidents across Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">On Friday, a 26-year-old Cranbourne man and a 25-year-old Narre Warren man were charged with murder following a shooting in Derrimut, in Melbourne&#8217;s west, last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">A 20-year-old man took himself to hospital after being shot but died as a result of his injuries shortly after.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The 26-year-old has also been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing on the same day in Wyndham Vale, in the city&#8217;s south-west.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Two days earlier, the pair were allegedly involved in another shooting in Ivanhoe, in Melbourne&#8217;s north-east, where a 27-year-old man&#8217;s body was found in the front yard of a home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The Cranbourne man had previously been charged with murder in relation to that shooting, while the Narre Warren man was charged with being an accessory to murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The pair were arrested on Sunday following a police pursuit and questioned over the incidents, as well as an attempted carjacking in South Yarra.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">They have both been remanded in custody and will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates&#8217; Court at a later date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Victoria Police said the investigation remains ongoing and is calling on anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two men are facing charges over the alleged murders of two people and the attempted murder of a&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":137467,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[38294,64,63,48,11224,2968,44,1158,4905,27777],"class_list":{"0":"post-137466","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-australia","8":"tag-attempted-murder","9":"tag-au","10":"tag-australia","11":"tag-crime","12":"tag-fatal","13":"tag-murder","14":"tag-news","15":"tag-police","16":"tag-shooting","17":"tag-stabbing"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/137466","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=137466"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/137466\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/137467"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=137466"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=137466"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=137466"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
