been advised to prepare for a monster storm set to thrash the coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The Bureau of Meteorology said two cold fronts will sweep the southern part of the state on Saturday afternoon and throughout Sunday, bringing with it severe weather and damaging wind gusts in excess of 100km\/h.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cPeak wind gusts may reach up to 120 km\/h about the coast between Mandurah and Walpole for a period during Sunday morning,\u201d the bureau said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The fierce wind \u201cmay cause damage to homes and property\u201d, and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services is warning locals to secure or tie down any outdoor furniture, trampolines or other loose items around the home that could be picked up and thrown by strong winds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Locations set to be affected include Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Esperance, Katanning, Mandurah, Manjimup, Margaret River, Merredin, Mount Barker, Narrogin, Northam and Perth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">On Sunday afternoon, the Great Southern, southern central Wheatbelt and remaining southern coastal districts will cop the brunt of the strong winds, which will be accompanied by showers and thunderstorms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cBy early Sunday evening winds will tend southwesterly and begin to ease over western and inland districts, but damaging wind gusts are likely to continue about the south coast throughout the evening until around midnight,\u201d the bureau said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cPeople in the southwest of WA experience a front as windy as this about five times per year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Emergency services also issued a coastal hazard warning for large swathes of the west coast, alerting coastal residents between Kalbarri and Walpole that gale force winds will stir up large swells.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cDamaging surf conditions could cause significant beach erosion between Geraldton and Bunbury, including Perth local waters from Sunday afternoon,\u201d the bureau said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cWaves are expected to reduce below warning thresholds during Monday afternoon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The wet September weather continues after a record-breaking winter in which Perth experienced its wettest August since 1955.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It\u2019s also the first time since 1996 that all three winter months of June, July, and August have exceeded the average amount of expected
