Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> defensive tackle Teair Tart\u2019s slap on Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce<\/a> is going to cost him some cash.<\/p>\n

The NFL has fined Tart for slapping Kelce<\/a> during the Chargers’ 27-21 Week 1 win in Sao Paulo, Brazil, according to ESPN. The NFL announces fines Saturday afternoon. ESPN reported Tart\u2019s fine amount will be $12,172 for a first offense of striking, per NFL rule.<\/p>\n

Tart slapped Kelce on the front of his helmet following a two-yard run by Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt with a little over eight minutes remaining in the third quarter.<\/p>\n

Officials quickly threw a flag and penalized Tart for unnecessary roughness.<\/p>\n

The penalty moved the football to the Chargers\u2019 11-yard line. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reached the end zone on an 11-yard run on the ensuing play.<\/p>\n

Tart produced one tackle and two pass deflections in the Chargers\u2019 Week 1 win.
