{"id":141905,"date":"2025-09-14T05:54:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T05:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/141905\/"},"modified":"2025-09-14T05:54:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T05:54:08","slug":"aussie-racing-cars-driver-shane-mann-suffers-fatal-medical-episode","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/141905\/","title":{"rendered":"Aussie Racing Cars driver Shane Mann suffers fatal medical episode"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE motorsport community is mourning the loss of Aussie Racing Cars competitor Shane Mann.<\/p>\n<p>Mann, 50, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/critical-medical-incident-at-the-bend-confirmed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">suffered a medical episode in the support category paddock<\/a> yesterday at The Bend Motorsport Park, in an incident unrelated to his car.<\/p>\n<p>Aussie Racing Cars Race 2 was consequently cancelled. The front row of the grid for Race 3 this morning was left vacant in Mann\u2019s honour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very sad to report we lost one of our great drivers in the field in Shane Mann,\u201d Matt Naulty announced on the broadcast moments before Race 3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the cars in the field this morning are carrying some tribute stickers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be a tribute for race number four later on today, a parade lap and the front row will be left still.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts are with the Mann family. A very, very sad day here not just for the category but for our little, tight family that is motorsport.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mann had finished 12th in the category\u2019s opening race of the meeting on Friday aboard the #21 Safe Direction Racing Mustang.<\/p>\n<p>Race 4 for Aussie Racing Cars at The Bend is due to start 10:30am local (11am AEST).<\/p>\n<p>V8 Sleuth extends its condolences to Shane\u2019s family and friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"THE motorsport community is mourning the loss of Aussie Racing Cars competitor Shane Mann.
