BERKELEY \u2013 The Colorado Buffalo women’s tennis team wrapped up its first weekend of competition at the Battle in the Bay Classic, finishing Sunday 2-0 in singles.

\nStarting off the afternoon, Bubalo took on a past opponent of Alexin’s, Irene Riva of Sac State. Bubalo made quick work of her match, defeating Riva in a pair of 6-4 sets.
\n\u00a0
\nFollowing Bubalo, Alexin kept the steady pace, downing her opponent Tara Mihaljevic of San Jose State. Alexin took the first set 6-4, then finished it in the second, 6-3.<\/p>\n
“It was great opportunity for both Ema and Lera to compete against some of the best in the country” head coach Anthony Pham<\/a> stated, “They had to play in some very tricky conditions and it was nice to end the weekend on a positive note. We look forward to continuing to a good week of training in preparation for our next tournament.” QF C-R16

\nIn total, the duo went an equal 5-5 in both singles and doubles competition, each with a 2-2 singles record.

\nThe Buffaloes will continue competition next weekend, Sept. 19-21, at the Bedford Cup hosted by Air Force in Colorado Springs.
