Over the years, Prince Harry<\/a> has been criticised for supposedly airing the royal family<\/a>‘s “dirty laundry” in \ufeffinterviews and books, including his own memoir Spare.<\/p>\n

But the 40-year-old<\/a> says he has no regrets. \ufeff”My conscience is clear,” he told The Guardian<\/a> in an interview.<\/p>\n

“I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative. The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible.”<\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex has made his desire to reconcile with his family all the more evident in the last few months, telling the outlet that in the forseeable future, “the focus really has to be on my dad”.<\/p>\n

However, he refuses to override his principles for the sake of \ufeffa reunion.<\/p>\n

“You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth,” he said in a pointed message.<\/p>\n

The royal recently paid a visit to his father for the first time in 19 months, after last visiting him in February 2024 following the news that he was diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n

Back then, he had rushed to his father’s side and rushed back home to his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and his children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet just as quickly.<\/p>\n

His recent visit was \ufeffalso quick, a 55 minute meeting in Clarence House over a spot of tea, but it has been the subject of headlines across the world and ongoing debate about whether it will lead to the healing of the royal family.<\/p>\n

Prince Harry returned to England last week, coinciding with the third anniversary of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s death, and had a jam-packed four days of events.<\/p>\n

He attended the WellChild Awards on September 8 and even visited the Ukraine on his way home, his second trip to the war-torn country this year.<\/p>\n

The royal arrived there on September 12 and spent the day in the capital Kyiv with his Invictus Games Foundation, during which The Guardian’s interview took place.<\/p>\n

He has since returned to California, with his wife celebrating his return with a glass of champagne, ahead of his 41st birthday tomorrow.\ufeff<\/p>\n
