Adelaide\u2019s food scene is about to welcome a brand-new celebration, with the Riverlea Food Festival set to dish up a day of global flavours, family fun, and foodie experiences on Saturday, 20 September.<\/p>\n

From 12pm to 5pm, Riverlea Park will transform into Adelaide\u2019s ultimate foodie playground, just 25 minutes from the CBD. The free-entry festival is designed with everyone in mind\u2014whether you\u2019re chasing street eats from around the world, keen to keep the kids entertained, or looking for inspiration in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

Headlining the festival is 2025 MasterChef winner and Adelaide favourite Laura Sharrad, co-owner of pasta hotspots Nido and Fugazzi. Sharrad will host live cooking demonstrations at 1pm and 3pm on the Milner Place stage, giving festival-goers a chance to see her culinary skills up close. \u201cFood has a way of bringing people together, and this festival is the perfect chance to enjoy great food and a fun day out with the whole family,\u201d Sharrad said. \u201cI\u2019m really excited to bring the cooking I love out of the kitchen and into the community, giving people ideas they can take home to cook for their own families.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kids will be kept busy with free cooking classes every half hour from 12.30pm, where little chefs can get creative while learning new skills. Add in balloon animals, free ice-cream, and a dedicated Kids Cooking Zone, and it\u2019s a recipe for a fun-filled afternoon.<\/p>\n

For those with an appetite for adventure, the Flavours of the World Zone will feature stalls serving cuisines from every corner of the globe. Visitors can also explore local produce and artisan goods, plus enjoy a free fruit stand courtesy of Pick a Local, Pick SA. And for one lucky foodie, the day could end with a prize \u2013 a premium dining experience at Sharrad\u2019s restaurant, Fugazzi. Riverlea Community Engagement Officer Michaela Keirl said the festival is all about celebrating community through food. \u201cWe wanted to create a day that everyone can enjoy, whether you\u2019re here for Laura Sharrad\u2019s cooking or to try something new from the food stalls while spending quality time with family and friends,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to celebrate great food and the incredible community that\u2019s growing here at Riverlea.\u201d<\/p>\n

With live DJs adding the soundtrack, street food serving up flavour from across the globe, and free activities for kids, the Riverlea Food Festival is shaping up as Adelaide\u2019s tastiest new day out.<\/p>\n
