The NRL Judiciary has confirmed the outcomes from Finals Week 1, with the Brisbane Broncos suffering a major blow ahead of their preliminary final.

Patrick Carrigan will miss the clash against either the Panthers or Bulldogs after Brisbane opted not to contest his Grade 2 careless high tackle charge on Morgan Smithies. Carrigan’s early plea locks in a one-match suspension, ruling him out of Sunday week’s prelim.

Teammate Reece Walsh avoided suspension despite facing two separate charges from the 53rd minute against Canberra. He accepted financial penalties of $3,000 (striking) and $1,800 (contrary conduct) under the early plea system.

Elsewhere, Josh Curran (Bulldogs), Isaiah Papali’i (Panthers), and Zac Hosking (Raiders) were all fined for offences, but remain available for selection in Finals Week 2.

Judiciary Results – FW1

PlayerDate of OffenceRoundClubMinuteCharge / IncidentGradeResult – Early PleaRecordMatches to ServeFinancial PenaltyMisconduct On WhomJosh Curran12/09/2025FW1Bulldogs46thHigh Tackle – Careless1Guilty – Early Plea2nd Offence0$1,800Jack HowarthIsaiah Papali’i13/09/2025FW1Panthers42ndHigh Tackle – Careless1Guilty – Early Plea1st Offence0$1,000Chanel Harris-TavitaReece Walsh14/09/2025FW1Broncos53rdStriking1Guilty – Early Plea2nd Offence0$3,000Hudson YoungReece Walsh14/09/2025FW1Broncos53rdContrary Conduct1Guilty – Early Plea2nd Offence0$1,800–Patrick Carrigan14/09/2025FW1Broncos56thHigh Tackle – Careless2Guilty – Early Plea1st Offence10Morgan SmithiesZac Hosking14/09/2025FW1Raiders80thDangerous Contact1Guilty – Early Plea1st Offence0$1,000Reece Walsh

The NRL Judiciary has confirmed the outcomes from Finals Week 1, with the Brisbane Broncos suffering a major…

[568
64,63,4428,4532,16658,761,762,158,77372,22329,85
post-146549","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nrl","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-brisbane-broncos","tag-canberra-raiders","tag-canterbury-bankstown-bulldogs","tag-national-rugby-league","tag-nationalrugbyleague","tag-nrl","tag-nrl-judiciary","tag-patrick-carrigan","tag-sports
["GET
