Bryce Eldridge is hard to miss.<\/p>\n

The San Francisco Giants’ top prospect stands 6-foot-7, and that was a historic number when he made his MLB debut on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Because the second Eldridge took that field in Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks, he was tied for a Giants franchise record.<\/p>\n

That 6-foot-7 is the tallest a player has ever stood for the Giants. Eldridge is now tied for that record with Desi Wilson and Damon Minor, who like Eldridge were also first basemen.<\/p>\n

Eldridge’s debut may not have gone exactly how the Giants wanted, as they struggled to keep up on the scoreboard.<\/p>\n

But the big fella did have one impressive swing that was just incredibly unlucky:<\/p>\n

The Giants are still in the wild card race, but they’ll need a few of those Eldridge swings to leave the yard to really make their mark in chasing down the New York Mets fully (and holding off the Cincinnati Reds).<\/p>\n

Eldridge’s call-up was pretty much necessitated by a Dominic Smith injury. Before that, the Giants seemed content to wait for him to make his debut until next season.<\/p>\n

Now, Eldridge has arrived, and San Francisco will hope he can play at the height of his powers.<\/p>\n
