Just days after landing on Paro\u2019s turf, Papot labelled the former world champion \u201cnothing special\u201d after watching some of his highlights. <\/a><\/p>\n

The sledge lit a fire under Paro, who left his last opponent, Johnathan Navarro pouring blood from a broken nose in Cairns.<\/p>\n

And with an IBF world title fight against Lewis Crocker on the line for the winner of this Thursday\u2019s PPV showdown at Pat Rafter Arena, proud Queenslander Paro wants to inflict similar damage on Papot.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see if he thinks I\u2019m \u2018nothing special\u2019 after I crack him a few times in the mouth,\u201d Paro told Code Sports. \u201cI love the confidence though, it makes for a better fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he will realise pretty fast that there\u2019s levels to this.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s had some tough opponents, but they\u2019ve all been fringe opponents. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at the elite level, and I\u2019ve got some traps for him.\u201d <\/p>\n

Papot didn\u2019t back down from his bold statement on Tuesday afternoon. <\/p>\n

\u201cI saw a video of Liam knocking out his opponent in his last fight,\u201d the 30-0-1 fighter said. \u201cIt\u2019s nothing special. <\/p>\n

\u201cI started boxing when I was five. Now I\u2019m 34. <\/p>\n

\u201cI know my stuff. To see a fighter in a video doing a knockout is nothing special.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of this country\u2019s most fearsome knockout artists, Paro was a wrecking machine at super-lightweight, but is adamant he\u2019s gone to another level following his move to welterweight earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, man, I just feel so bloody good,\u201d he told Code Sports. \u201cThe difference is massive, and the power and the explosiveness is all coming together. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna be very dangerous \u2013 on fight night, it\u2019s gonna be a demolition.\u201d <\/p>\n

A win this Thursday could see Paro propelled towards an IBF welterweight world title showdown against Crocker, who won a bruising battle with fellow Irishman Paddy Donovan last weekend. <\/p>\n

\u201cI can beat him in every single aspect,\u201d Paro said of Crocker. \u201cI\u2019ve got the artillery to beat him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the champion for a reason, but keep that belt warm, because I\u2019m coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, it\u2019s been 48 hours from hell for promoter No Limit with the undercard rocked by a series of late-notice pull outs and hastily made replacements.<\/p>\n

Brock Jarvis\u2019 hopes of hijacking Michael Zerafa\u2019s plans of fighting Nikita Tszyu fell apart with the Sydney fighter forced out with a shoulder injury. <\/p>\n

His scheduled opponent, Ken Aitken, now takes on Sonny Knight.<\/p>\n

A good performance could have seen Jarvis catapulted into a pay-per-view blockbuster against Tszyu later in the year. <\/p>\n

\u201cBrock was hoping it wasn\u2019t as bad as it was, and he\u2019s a tough guy,\u201d No Limit boss George Rose told Code Sports. \u201cHe\u2019s thinking it\u2019s just a bit of soreness, but now he has to get rushed into surgery. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m shattered for him because he\u2019s done so much to get back to where he\u2019s at.\u201d <\/p>\n

Tokyo Olympian Paulo Aokuso lost his second opponent in as many weeks as Shukrat Abdullaev wasn\u2019t allowed to leave his native Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know why, and I don\u2019t want to speculate,\u201d Rose joked when asked why he wasn\u2019t allowed to leave the country. \u201cI know my lane and I\u2019m sticking to it.\u201d <\/p>\n

Aokuso was left to attempt some last-minute negotiations with former middleweight contender Ben Hussain just moments before Tuesday\u2019s press conference was due to kick off in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

The always entertaining Hussain retired from the sport earlier this year, but couldn\u2019t stay away for long and is already planning a comeback next month.<\/p>\n

Hussain attended the press conference to call out Jarvis, but ended up in conversation with former sparring partner Aokuso for a late-notice fight instead. <\/p>\n

The pair spoke several times over the course of an hour, but Aokuso was understandably concerned about Hussain\u2019s weight. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to see Paulo in ring,\u201d Rose said. \u201cBenny\u2019s scheduled to fight in a couple of weeks, so he\u2019s ready and that\u2019s why he\u2019s confident to go. <\/p>\n

\u201cOf all the possible replacements, this is one I\u2019m actually curious to see. People know Ben Hussain. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey know what he\u2019s done in the ring and it would make for an entertaining fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
