rival almost pursued a last-minute raid on Nottingham Forest.<\/p>\n<p>The Reds were incredibly active in the market, spending over \u00a3200m, which has left <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nottinghamforest.news\/tag\/ange-postecoglou\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ange Postecoglou<\/a> with plenty of options as he settles in at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nottinghamforest.news\/club\/stadium\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">City Ground<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On deadline day alone, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nottinghamforest.news\/2025\/09\/01\/nottingham-forest-announce-35m-dilane-bakwa-capture-in-stunning-long-term-deal\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Forest signed Dilane Bakwa<\/a> to add another strong option out wide, while Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived on loan to bolster the left-back area.<\/p>\n<p>However, Nottingham Forest News understands that, alongside these additions, the Reds could have lost a first-team regular, if not for a Premier League rival getting cold feet.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nottinghamforest.news\/2025\/07\/12\/callum-hudson-odoi-and-elliot-anderson-react-as-anthony-elanga-announces-nottingham-forest-exit\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Elanga\u2019s move to Newcastle United<\/a>, a crucial cog in the side that finished seventh.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow first-team regular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nottinghamforest.news\/tag\/ibrahim-sangare\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ibrahim Sangare<\/a> was also the subject of interest over the summer, with Nottingham Forest News able to exclusively reveal that Everton were plotting a move for the Ivorian.<\/p>\n<p>According to information from Graeme Bailey, David Moyes\u2019 side were looking very closely at the central midfielder ahead of a potential offer. <\/p>\n<p>However, the interest cooled after Everton witnessed his disappointing display against West Ham, a game that was supposed to solidify their intentions before making a move.<\/p>\n<p>Sangare has started all four of Forest\u2019s Premier League games this season, but judging from that performance against West Ham, it\u2019s clear to see why Everton opted out of a move.<\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim Sangare has had an indifferent start to the season<\/p>\n<p>Albeit not the worst performer on the pitch, Sangare\u2019s limitations in terms of mobility were on show against Arsenal on Sunday, a potentially major problem for Postecoglou\u2019s more high-octane football.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not as if he was shining under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nottinghamforest.news\/tag\/nuno-espirito-santo-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nuno Esp\u00edrito Santo<\/a>, though, with his display against West Ham a the ball away 11 times, which goes against his usual knack for composure in the midfield.<\/p>\n<p>He also only won 29% of his ground duels which is alarming for a defensive midfielder, especially given that he won all three of his duels against Arsenal.<\/p>\n<p>Sangare will certainly be one to watch in the coming weeks, as it becomes clear whether he can thrive under
