Golf fans reckon Jon Rahm<\/a> was to blame after Tyrrell Hatton was floored by the most immature prank in the book during Europe’s recce to Bethpage Black.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hatton<\/a> and his 11 European teammates arrived in New York 24 hours ago after the conclusion of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Over the next few days, the European team will familiarise themselves with the notoriously difficult course and test out potential pairings<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They’ll also get fit for their uniforms and listen to guest speakers, according to former Ryder Cup<\/a> captain Paul McGinley.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Captain Luke Donald confirmed the team played nine holes yesterday and 18 on Tuesday before heading into the city for a team dinner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Team Europe have been preparing for every eventuality.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A toxic and hostile reception from the New York crowd is anticipated. Donald sanctioned the use of VR headsets to help the team prepare.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rory McIlroy<\/a> let slip on the plan but refused to divulge<\/a> what messages were relayed into his headset.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It wouldn’t be unreasonable to suggest Hatton may be targeted, given his propensity to run hot when things don’t go his way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hatton has demonstrated he has the ability to remain calm under pressure, though, given his near miss at the 2025 US Open.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But if anyone really wants to throw him off his game, then all anyone needs to do is to simply let rip.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s no surprise the aforementioned Rahm was accused of being the guilty party, given his close friendship with the Englishman.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hatton joined LIV Golf<\/a> in 2024, months after the duo played starring roles in the 2023 Ryder Cup victory in Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Rahm has deffo done that,” one X user commented. “That’s the pressure of the Ryder Cup,” another added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No doubt we’ll find out whodunit soon enough.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 2025 Ryder Cup will be played over 26-28 September.\u00a0<\/p>\n
