{"id":150363,"date":"2025-09-17T18:50:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T18:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/150363\/"},"modified":"2025-09-17T18:50:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T18:50:07","slug":"honda-impressed-with-luca-marini-in-area-of-marc-marquez-weakness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/150363\/","title":{"rendered":"Honda \u201cimpressed\u201d with Luca Marini in area of Marc Marquez weakness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Luca Marini has identified one area where he says Honda is \u201cimpressed\u201d by his performance, even compared to Marc Marquez.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marquez<\/a>\u2019s asymmetry in his strength between left- and right-handed corners has been well documented over the years in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a>, and turn 11 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli,\u00a0Curvone, is perhaps the most notorious right-hander of the season.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Approached in sixth gear, riders roll the throttle only to enter the corner, coming back to the power once they\u2019re at maximum lean angle \u2013 there is almost no deceleration.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/973240\/luca-marini\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luca Marini<\/a> explained that this is the corner where he makes time versus the rest, and where Honda was \u201cstruggling a lot with Marc every year\u201d.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cTurn 11. I\u2019m doing a lot of corner speed \u2013 more than everybody, for sure,\u201d Marini said on Saturday at the San Marino Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAlso in Honda they were quite impressed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAlso because in the past always there they were struggling a lot with Marc [Marquez] every year, and then they saw my data and said \u2018Good job, good job,\u2019 because there it\u2019s difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He added: \u201cAlso with the Ducati I was the strongest there. I like it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Marini admitted that the corner is \u201cintimidating\u201d, but that you have to accept that the bike behaves in an unnerving way in this corner, and that it\u2019s normal.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0It\u2019s intimidating, but it depends how you feel it,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/repsol-honda-team\" data-entity-type=\"external\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Honda HRC Castrol<\/a> rider said.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s normal to go in super-fast, lose the front and every lap happens the same. Since Moto2.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMoto2 race was like this every lap: you go in, close the front, and then you open [the throttle] and everything is fine. So, you have to think that this is normal and not worry about it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cI\u2019m really strong every time in the fast corners on the right side, every time in every circuit. Here is a very fast one so I\u2019m feeling great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Despite his confidence there, Marini says it\u2019s not a corner where you can push.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAttack?
