Good Boy<\/a> is a horror movie told from a dog\u2019s point of view<\/a>, and the film\u2019s final trailer makes sure you understand that by emphasizing what looks to be an extremely charismatic canine<\/a> performance. While it\u2019s a bit of a gimmick, it makes sense: dogs have vastly superior senses of hearing and smell compared to humans. It\u2019s not that much of a stretch to imagine they could detect lurking ghosts if they suddenly moved into a haunted house!<\/p>\n

World, meet Indy\u2014owned by Good Boy\u2018s director Ben Leonberg and his producing partner, Kari Fischer\u2014as he barks, stares, wags his tail, accepts scritches\u2026 and picks up on vibrations from the beyond.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the official synopsis: \u201cOur canine hero, Indy, finds himself on a new adventure with his human owner\u2014and best friend\u2014Todd, leaving city life for a long-vacant family home in the country. From the start, two things are abundantly clear: Indy is wary of the creepy old house, and his affection for Todd is unwavering.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter moving in, Indy is immediately vexed by empty corners, tracks an invisible presence only he can see, perceives phantasmagoric warnings from a long-dead dog, and is haunted by visions of the previous occupant\u2019s grim death. When Todd begins succumbing to the dark forces swirling around the house, Indy must battle a malevolence intent on dragging his beloved Todd into the afterlife.\u201d<\/p>\n

Good Boy is directed by Ben Leonberg and written by Leonberg and Alex Cannon; it stars Indy the dog, Shane Jensen, Arielle Friedman, and Larry Fessenden. Tickets are on sale now (check availability here<\/a>) ahead of its release October 3.<\/p>\n
