Tim Tszyu\u2019s exiled manager insists he has no regrets about the way he handled the fighter\u2019s career in the wake of The Soul Taker punting almost every member of his entourage<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n

Speaking for the first time on the shock Team Tszyu break-up, Glen Jennings confirmed the 30-year-old has decided to part ways with five members of the group \u2013 himself, coach Igor Goloubev, S&C coach Dave Barker, cutman Mark Gambin and medic, Dr Bill Anseline. <\/p>\n

Despite the surprise move, Jennings said Nikita Tszyu would be sticking solid with the same team moving forward, with his next fight expected to be an all-Australian showdown against Michael Zerafa in November.<\/p>\n

Jennings addressed a small group of journalists inside Pat Rafter Arena on Thursday night, where several more of his fighters are competing on the undercard of Liam Paro\u2019s IBF world title eliminator.<\/p>\n

Asked if he had regrets, Jennings said: \u201cThere are plenty of experts with their opinions.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I can\u2019t be prouder of what we\u2019ve achieved.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom a young fella who just wanted to win an Australian title, (Tszyu) won a world title, he\u2019s financially secure, so I\u2019m very proud of what we achieved as a team.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there are always going to be knockers who still say that the team is hopeless, clowns and all that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has no effect on us.<\/p>\n

\u201cA manager\u2019s job is to get your fighter to a level.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd when everything is going great you\u2019re the best manager in the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs soon as you take a loss though — especially here in Australia — you can\u2019t do anything right.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I don\u2019t have any regrets<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fights that Tim went into against the elites of the world, he never got the result.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut that doesn\u2019t change the fact he did it, and we got him there.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, no, from my side, I don\u2019t have a lot to do with what happens inside the ring apart from getting the deals done.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you talk about Igor, coaching \u2026 that\u2019s questions for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as for how Goloubev is handling it?<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s like everyone — a little bit \u2018wow\u2019,\u201d Jennings continued. \u201cBut you\u2019ll have to talk to them because it\u2019s a personal thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later Jennings continued: \u201cIt\u2019s part of life, I guess.<\/p>\n

\u201cDecisions have been made \u2026 and the consequences are that our team has been removed.<\/p>\n

\u201cFive of us in total.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo that\u2019s the end of an era.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if this is what Tim needs to get back in the winner\u2019s circle, then he should do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to put up a roadblock to that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like a disposable society.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see this every day in the NRL.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sad that a chapter closes, but sometimes it\u2019s inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennings also revealed that when Tszyu initially came to him with his thoughts, \u201cI said to Tim you need to think long and hard about this \u2026 he was very appreciative of everything we\u2019ve done but in his mind it\u2019s something he needs to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked the reason for the split, he said: \u201cIf you can call it a reason, it\u2019s more about him.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe needs to do this for himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no specific discussion about a reason.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anything, he was complimentary about what we\u2019ve achieved.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a grown man.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe can make those decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as for if the decision is the right one for his fighter?<\/p>\n

\u201cThat will be for others to decide,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd based on what happens for Tim from here.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s still got to go and do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe won\u2019t be there.<\/p>\n
