Mary Fowler<\/a> has surprised fans by announcing she has written her first book.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Matildas striker revealed the news on Thursday, posing with the cover of her debut release Bloom: Creating a Life I Love, which will hit shelves on November 18.<\/p>\n

‘So I wrote a book\u2026 feels pretty crazy to type that,’ she began in a heartfelt Instagram post.<\/p>\n

‘I know I’m only 22 years old so it seems a little early to be writing any kind of life story, but I wanted to create something that potentially would’ve been helpful for my teenage self to read.<\/p>\n

So while my youth is fresh in mind – while I’m still living it – I thought it would be a nice time to share parts of this chapter before some of those experiences fade away.’<\/p>\n

Mary explained that the project is a mix of memoir and personal journal, describing it as a ‘keepsake’ for herself as well as a source of inspiration for others.<\/p>\n

‘It’s been a super fun process – filled with late nights and lots of coffee, but I’m proud to say that it’s finally completed,’ she added.<\/p>\n

The footballer signed off the announcement with love, gratitude and excitement, signing off as ‘Mazzy’ – a nickname her teammates often use.<\/p>\n

The news has already sparked an outpouring of support from her teammates and fans.<\/p>\n

‘LOVE THAT!’ wrote fellow Matilda Ellie Carpenter, while Charli Grant gushed: ‘Omg, can’t wait to read!!’<\/p>\n

Soccer star Akec Makur Chuot added: ‘Congrats sis, you are a light.’<\/p>\n

Former Matilda Jacintha Field praised Fowler’s courage, writing: ‘Oh Mary, this is fantastic. Teenagers everywhere will be thankful for you speaking your truth.’<\/p>\n

The release will cap off what has been a whirlwind few years for the Queensland-born athlete, who has become a household name thanks to her World Cup heroics, high-profile career at Manchester City, and growing profile off the pitch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Currently recovering from an ACL injury in England, Fowler recently gave fans an intimate look into her hopes for the future and life after retiring from sport during a candid appearance on the\u00a0Keegan and Company podcast.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Matildas forward recently revealed her long-term plans with Nathan Cleary (right) – and they include babies, adoption, and a life surrounded by animals on a rural property<\/p>\n

Despite being more than 17,000km away from home – and with no plans to play in Australia again ‘any time soon, if ever’ – Fowler says she’s already looking ahead to a quieter life with\u00a0NRL player Nathan Cleary.<\/p>\n

‘I really want to have a big family,’ she said.<\/p>\n

‘The only dream I have at the moment is to be a mum and have heaps of kids and be in a space where they can play outside a lot.’<\/p>\n

Not content with just a picket fence and a swing set, Mary is thinking big – envisioning a home where her future children can get their hands dirty in the veggie patch, feed farm animals, and ‘run wild in the mud.’<\/p>\n

‘If I had the set-up for that, it would be a dream,’ she added.<\/p>\n

Mary, who hails from Cairns and is one of five siblings herself – Caoimhin, Seamus, Ciara and Louise – said she sees a similar-sized family in her own future.<\/p>\n

‘I would love to have two or three kids of my own and then adopt,’ she revealed.<\/p>\n

‘I don’t know how many I would adopt, it’s a long process. But in an ideal world I would like to adopt siblings. I would bring all of them into the home.’<\/p>\n
