NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 At age 29, with several novels and millions of copies sold behind her, R.F. Kuang is just getting started.<\/p>\n
The author of \u201cYellowface\u201d and the current bestseller \u201cKatabasis,\u201d Kuang has an agreement with HarperCollins Publishers for four more books, including a pair of fantasy novels for the imprint Harper Voyager and a pair of \u201cliterary\u201d novels for the William Morrow imprint.<\/p>\n
Kuang already has a literary novel in the works, \u201cTaipei Story,\u201d scheduled for next year. And she is a Ph.D student at Yale University.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe out of the gate success for Katabasis is a testament to Rebecca\u2019s extraordinary storytelling and her ability to connect with fans,\u201d Liate Stehlik, president and publisher of HarperCollins and HarperCollins Children\u2019s Books, said in a statement released Wednesday. She called Kuang\u2019s upcoming work an \u201cexciting slate of new books.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kuang\u2019s previous novels also include \u201cThe Poppy War,\u201d \u201cThe Dragon Republic\u201d and \u201cBabel, or the Necessity of Violence.\u201d<\/p>\n
