Reese Witherspoon has played many roles, but there\u2019s at least one that got away. <\/p>\n
The actor, who once famously charmed us with the \u201cbend and snap\u201d technique in \u201cLegally Blonde,\u201d has captivated audiences for decades. But her sweet demeanor cost her the leading role in the 2014 film adaptation of \u201cGone Girl.\u201d On Wednesday\u2019s episode of the podcast \u201cLas Culturistas,\u201d<\/a> Witherspoon revealed that her then-production company, Pacific Standard, produced the movie \u2014 and that she had originally planned to play the leading role. <\/p>\n \u201cI had optioned it to star in it, and I was supposed to star in it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n The \u201cSweet Home Alabama\u201d star went on to say that when she eventually writes a book, there will be \u201ca whole chapter\u201d dedicated to the project because \u201cit started\u201d her journey into production.
