Lewis Hamilton set the pace in Free Practice 2 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, leading team mate Charles Leclerc to a Ferrari 1-2.<\/p>\n
After stating his optimism for a strong weekend<\/a> on the Baku streets, Hamilton<\/a> ended the first day of action as the fastest driver, with his 1m 41.293s leading Leclerc<\/a> by 0.074s.<\/p>\n But for title-chasing McLaren<\/a>, the session was far more eventful, with Lando Norris<\/a> missing the second half of the action after colliding with the wall and causing significant damage. Oscar Piastri<\/a> also struck the wall, but escaped without damage.<\/p>\n George Russell<\/a> and Kimi Antonelli<\/a> were third and fourth respectively for Mercedes<\/a>, while Ollie Bearman<\/a> completed the top five for Haas<\/a>.
