One of nine players who are set to depart The Dolphins<\/a> after missing out on the 2025 NRL Finals<\/a>, talented youngster Aublix Tawha<\/a> is set to link up with one of the club’s biggest rivals.<\/p>\n

While it was already confirmed that\u00a0Harrison Graham<\/a> (Knights<\/a>),\u00a0Josh Kerr<\/a> (Dragons<\/a>),\u00a0Kenneath Bromwich<\/a>\u00a0(retired),\u00a0Mark Nicholls<\/a>\u00a0(retired),\u00a0Michael Waqa<\/a> (Broncos<\/a>) and\u00a0Peter Hola<\/a> (Knights<\/a>) would be departing the team at the end of 2025, reports emerged last week that three others will be joining them on the departures list.<\/p>\n

This includes Aublix Tawha<\/a>, Ryan Jackson<\/a> and the Bulldogs-bound halfback Sean O’Sullivan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Appearing in nine matches for The Dolphins<\/a> since his debut earlier this year in Round 16, Tawha is on the verge of signing with the Brisbane Broncos<\/a> with the club already holding preliminary talks with the youngster, per\u00a0News Corp.<\/a><\/p>\n

While he has yet to decide on his future, it is understood that he is leaning towards defecting to Brisbane despite his current club tabling him a contract extension.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was playing in a little town called Yass down in New South Wales, I played half the season there and [Te’o] saw some of my highlights and brought me up and gave me an opportunity at Redcliffe Dolphins<\/a>,\u201d Tawha told NRL.com<\/a>.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my first season with NRL<\/a>, I was just playing Queensland Cup last year (with Redcliffe Dolphins<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s the highest level I had played \u2026 I looked at Cup like it was the NRL<\/a>. Last year, Ben saw me play in a couple of games and he said \u2018bro, you could potentially play NRL<\/a>, so just stick at it’ and I’ve stuck at it and now I am here.\u201d<\/p>\n
