Some fans had a bone to pick with the NFL’s officials after the Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>‘ Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia, which has utilized the controversial ‘Tush Push’ to gain an edge in short-yardage situations, seemed to have gotten away with multiple illegal formations and false starts against Kansas City, and the league is finally starting to take notice.<\/p>\n

According to Mark Maske<\/a>, an NFL Reporter for The Washington Post, the league chided its officials for their missed calls against the Eagles<\/a> and told its referees to call “these plays tight” moving forward, in reference to Philadelphia’s unconventional short-yardage strategy.<\/p>\n

The Eagles managed to score a touchdown with an illegal version of the ‘Tush Push’ against the Chiefs in Week 2; a sequence which some fans and pundits saw as materially affecting the outcome of Kansas City’s Super Bowl LIX rematch against Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Stay tuned in Week 3 to find out if the NFL is serious about its commitment to perfection in officiating, or if this latest guidance will fall on deaf ears among the league’s referees.<\/p>\n
