A MAN who battled cancer has raised nearly \u00a32,000 through Sir Chris Hoy’s cycling challenge.<\/p>\n
Richard Guest, age 47, took on Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4 challenge, completing 56 miles and scaling 3,830 feet of elevation on roads around Glasgow while raising nearly \u00a32,000 for Bowel Cancer UK.<\/p>\n

The Tour de 4 was created after Sir Chris Hoy\u2019s own Stage 4 diagnosis. It both begins and finishes in Glasgow and took place on September 7, 2025.<\/p>\n
The event is a charity bike ride aimed at shining a spotlight on what a stage four cancer diagnosis can look like and how it is possible to live well alongside the diagnosis.<\/p>\n
Mr Guest, from Droitwich, was diagnosed with stage four Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in June 2022.<\/p>\n
He said: “Being diagnosed with cancer was a moment that changed absolutely everything. In the face of fear and uncertainty, I turned to one thing that gave me strength, clarity, and purpose – cycling.<\/p>\n

“Even on the hardest days, getting on my bike helped me stay grounded, focused, and hopeful.<\/p>\n
“It reminded me that while I couldn’t control everything, I could still fight, with every pedal stroke, every mile.”<\/p>\n
