The staff for the television anime<\/a> of Yoshitoki \u014cima<\/a>‘s To Your Eternity (Fumetsu no Anata e<\/a>) manga posted a new promotional video and more cast members for the third anime season<\/a> on Monday. The video previews the opening theme song<\/a> “Fumetsu no Anata” (Your Eternity), which Perfume<\/a>‘s sound producer Yasutaka Nakata<\/a> wrote specifically for the anime. (Perfume just announced<\/a> on Sunday an indefintie hiatus which will start next year.)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The third season will premiere<\/a> in October on the NHK<\/a> General channel. Crunchyroll<\/a> will stream<\/a> the anime.<\/p>\n

Reiji Kawashima<\/a> and Kenjir\u014d Tsuda<\/a> return as Fushi and The Observer, respectively. Tomori Kusunoki<\/a>, who voiced Hisame in the anime’s second season, will return in the new season as Mizuha, a popular second-year middle school student popular for her academic excellence and athletic abilities. Megumi Han<\/a>, who voiced Torta in the previous season, returns as Y\u016bki Aoki, a first-year middle school student and vice-president of the Occult Research Club. New cast member Yumiri Hanamori<\/a> will voice a mysterious boy named Satoru.<\/p>\n

S\u014dta Yokote<\/a> (Bye Bye, Earth<\/a> assistant director, The Detective Is Already Dead<\/a>, Insomniacs After School<\/a>, Komi Can’t Communicate<\/a> episode director) is making his directorial debut with the new season at Drive<\/a> and STUDIO MASSKET<\/a>. Second season director Kiyoko Sayama<\/a> is the new season’s chief director. Returning from the anime’s first two seasons are Shinz\u014d Fujita<\/a> to oversee the series scripts, Koji Yabuno<\/a> to design the characters, Ryo Kawasaki<\/a> to compose the music, and Takeshi Takadera<\/a> to direct the sound.<\/p>\n

The anime’s third season was first announced<\/a> in March 2023. The third season continues with the “This World” arc.<\/p>\n

The anime’s second season premiered<\/a> on NHK Educational<\/a> in October 2022. Crunchyroll streamed<\/a> the second series worldwide except in Asia, and it is also streaming<\/a> an English dub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The anime’s first series premiered<\/a> on NHK Educational in April 2021. The anime was originally slated to premiere in October 2020, but it was delayed<\/a> to April 2021 due to the anime’s production schedule being heavily affected by COVID-19. Crunchyroll streamed<\/a> the anime.<\/p>\n

\u014cima launched<\/a> the manga in November 2016 in Weekly Sh\u014dnen Magazine<\/a>. The manga’s first arc ended<\/a> in December 2019. The second arc launched<\/a> in January 2020, and ended in October 2022. The manga’s third arc launched<\/a> in January 2023. The series ended in this year’s 27th issue of Weekly Sh\u014dnen Magazine on June 4. The manga’s 25th and final compiled book volume shipped in Japan on August 12.<\/p>\n

Crunchyroll released<\/a> the manga in English digitally, simultaneously with its Japanese release, until the service removed<\/a> it in January 2023 with other Kodansha USA Publishing manga titles.<\/p>\n

The manga won<\/a> the Best Sh\u014dnen Manga award at the 43rd annual Kodansha<\/a> Manga Awards in May 2019. The manga also ranked<\/a> on the American Library Association’s (ALA’s) Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2019 list of Great Graphic Novels for Teens.<\/p>\n
