As part of their roles on Today and Today Extra, our hosts are required to look their best and be camera-ready before the show starts.<\/p>\n

However, the team need to also be comfortable with being guinea pigs for the hair and make-up department to try out new looks, styles and products on the odd occasion.<\/p>\n

Well this morning, it seems Sylvia Jeffreys drew the short straw, with her co-hosts noticing something different with her look when Today and Today Extra did their handover.\ufeff<\/p>\n

“We’ve had an incident,” Sylvia answered when her brother-in-law, Karl Stefanovic, asked if everything was okay.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffWell the make-up department were using a new lip gloss this morning – we don’t just wake up and look like this you know and it turns out there was some kind of plumping situation going on.<\/p>\n

“It’s stinging, I think my mouth is on fire.”<\/p>\n

Karl and his co-host, Sarah Abo, were laughing their heads off, telling Sylvia they couldn’t wait to get home and see how she handles speaking during the rest of Today Extra with her “flaming lips”.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”Oh yeah, Hot Lips Houlihan and I are going to have a great show,” Sylvia’s co-host David Campbell said, referencing the M.A.S.H character iplayed by Loretta Swit.<\/p>\n
