The NBL\u2019s best player Bryce Cotton says playing for the Boomers isn\u2019t on his radar, despite obtaining his Australian citizenship after a nine-year wait.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been widely speculated Cotton could don the green and gold now he is naturalised, but the legendary guard from America insists he has moved on.<\/p>\n

Asked if he had a desire to represent Australia at a World Cup or Olympics, the five-time NBL MVP said in an interview with CODE Sports<\/a>: \u201cNot really \u2013 for me it is thrill of just being a citizen and then from an NBL standpoint the opportunity to play as a local.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd what that means for me individually and what it means for any team that I play for and obviously playing for the 36ers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is what excites me a lot, but as far as the Boomers stuff, that doesn\u2019t cross my mind.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think people want that (me to play for the Boomers) more than I do.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a period when I was entertaining the opportunity, for sure.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut it was never a goal of mine, as I\u2019ve said before.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the opportunity came up I was like, \u2019sure, if I can do this, let\u2019s do it, but after different things transpired I thought, \u2019that\u2019s OK, this was never a goal in the first place.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I said, I\u2019m more happy about what citizenship means for me from a life standpoint and what it means from an NBL standpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n
