IRVING,\u00a0Texas – The Big 12 Conference unveiled the 2026 league slate which solidified the 2025-26 Sun Devil Men’s Basketball schedule.<\/p>\n
Each school has a home-and-home with three other Conference opponents, and faces the other 12 opponents once, with six at home and six on the road for an 18-game Big 12 schedule. Opponents were selected to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitiveness. Regular season conference play begins Friday, Jan. 2 and runs through Saturday, March 7. The T-Mobile Center in Kansas City will once again host the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship March 10-14. Finalized details on times and television designations will be announced at a later date.<\/p>\n

Conference of Contenders
Four Big 12 teams reached the Sweet 16 in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, with Texas Tech advancing to the Elite 8 and Houston finishing as a National Finalist. The Conference had the nation\u2019s best winning percentage in the NCAA Tournament, as seven teams were selected for the Big Dance. The league makes the switch from 20 to 18 conference games this season.<\/p>\n

Arizona State opens its Big 12 slate with a common opponent. The former Pac-12 rival Colorado Buffaloes will come to Tempe for both teams’ first league game. It will be the first of two matchups between the two programs, as Colorado is one of three teams ASU will face twice in conference play.
Jan. 7 at BYU
The first conference road test will be a stiff one, with Arizona State travelling to Provo to take on BYU. This will be the second consecutive season ASU plays a road game against the Cougars. It is the only matchup between the two sides this season. BYU is a preseason Top-10 team according to most publications and is projected to be one of the nation\u2019s most talented teams.
Jan. 10 vs. Kansas State
The Sun Devils return home for one game when they host Kansas State in Tempe for the second straight year. The two sides split a pair of matchups last year, with both teams winning on each other’s home floor. ASU played one of the most dramatic games in the Big 12 last year when they hosted the Wildcats and fell in a 71-70 thriller.
Jan. 14 at Arizona
Arizona State will make the annual trip to Tucson for a showdown with rival Arizona at the McKale Center. It is the first of two matchups between the two sides, as Arizona is one of the three programs ASU plays twice in league play. The Sun Devils put up triple digits on the road in this game last year, but fell to the Wildcats 113-100.
Jan. 18 at Houston
The Sun Devils remain on the road and will take on a second straight preseason Top-25 team when they travel to Houston. Each of their first three conference road games are against teams ranked in the preseason Top-15 (BYU, Arizona, Houston). Bobby Hurley<\/a>‘s team will be tested away from home early in the conference slate. This is the lone matchup between the two programs this year and the first time ASU has made the trip to Houston since moving to the Big 12. The Cougars are the National runner-up, falling to Florida in the 2025 NCAA Championship game.
Jan. 21 vs. West Virginia
For the first time since joining the Big 12, Arizona State will host West Virginia at Desert Financial Arena. The Sun Devils and Mountaineers meet only one time this season, just like they did a year ago. In that matchup, ASU took down No. 23 West Virginia at WVU Coliseum to earn a significant road conference victory. West Virginia is breaking in a new coach, with Ross Hodge taking over in Morgantown after a stint at North Texas.
Jan. 24 vs. Cincinnati
A second straight opponent will make the trip to Tempe for the first time as a Big 12 foe. Cincinnati follows West Virginia’s lead as the Sun Devils enjoy a rare two-game homestand. The Bearcats have not played a road game against Arizona State since 1973, when ASU beat Cincinnati 88-78. This is the lone matchup between the two sides this season.
Jan. 27 at UCF
Arizona State will get their first taste of Orlando when they play UCF in a road matchup. The lone meeting between the two sides this season will take place in Florida, as the Sun Devils return the trip from last year when they hosted the Knights. This will be the first time the Sun Devils have played a road game at UCF.
Jan. 31 vs. Arizona
Arguably the most important game on the Arizona State schedule comes at the end of January. The Sun Devils host Arizona in the second of their two matchups this season. The two rivals have met over 250 times in their history.
Feb. 4 at Utah
Arizona State takes a familiar trip when they take on the Rocky Mountain schools in back-to-back road games. Utah is the initial leg of the trip, the first matchup between ASU and the Utes on the year. They will meet again later in the season, as Utah is one of three teams the Sun Devils draw twice in conference play. Bobby Hurley<\/a> has won four of his past six games in Salt Lake City.
Feb. 7 at Colorado
The second part of the trip has the Sun Devils heading to Boulder for their second matchup with Colorado. The Sun Devils emerged victorious in their last trip to Colorado. ASU pulled off a dramatic 70-68 win to complete the season sweep of the Buffaloes.
Feb. 10 vs. Oklahoma State
Another new opponent makes their Big 12 debut in Tempe, as Oklahoma State returns the trip after the Sun Devils were in Stillwater last year. This is the lone meeting between the two sides and the first of a two-game homestand.
Feb. 17 vs. Texas Tech
A significant part of a marquee home schedule is the presence of Texas Tech, a preseason Top-25 team. The Red Raiders are considered one of the conference contenders heading into the 2025-26 season and the lone meeting with Arizona State will take place at Desert Financial Arena. It will be a rematch of one of the best games of the Big 12 season when ASU nearly knocked off No. 12 Texas Tech in double overtime on the road.
Feb. 21 at Baylor
The Sun Devils return to Texas, this time for a pair of contests for their final two-game road trip. First up, ASU will play at Baylor for the first time as a Big 12 program. This is the lone meeting between the two sides and Arizona State’s first visit to Waco since a second round matchup in the 2013 NIT.
Feb. 24 at TCU
Arizona State’s final multi-game conference road trip continues when they travel to TCU. They played the Horned Frogs in Fort Worth as non-conference opponents during the 2022-23 season. ASU is returning the trip for the lone meeting of the season after the two sides met in Tempe last year.
Feb. 28 vs. Utah
After a brief hiatus, Utah returns to Desert Financial Arena to take on the Sun Devils. The old Pac-12 regular foes were absent from the home schedule last year, with the lone matchup taking place on the road. This is the first of two games in the final homestand of the season.
March 3 vs. Kansas
Sun Devil fans will be treated to an excellent environment as the final home conference game features a marquee opponent. Kansas will make their highly-anticipated return to Tempe. It is the Jayhawks’ first trip to Desert Financial Arena since suffering a 80-76 loss at the hands of Bobby Hurley<\/a> and the Sun Devils. 14,592 attended one of the biggest wins in program history. Arizona State will honor their Senior class in a ceremony prior to the game. <\/p>\n
March 7 at Iowa State
The final game of the Sun Devil Men’s Basketball regular season campaign is a trip to Ames as they take on Iowa State. It is Arizona State’s first visit to the Cylcones since joining the Big 12 Conference, as they return the trip from last year when the matchup was in Tempe. This is ASU’s first road game against Iowa State since 1987.<\/p>\n
