Commentator Dan Ginnane has taken aim at Manly over their handling of the Tom Trbojevic contract saga, believing they have shown \u201cdisrespect\u201d to their superstar.<\/p>\n

Trbojevic is off contract with the Sea Eagles at the end of the 2026 season, with uncertainty surrounding his future beyond then.<\/p>\n

The Daily Telegraph reporter David Riccio explained the situation on NRL 360 on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a stalemate,\u201d Riccio said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA formal offer was put forward to Tom Trbojevic and his management, which wasn\u2019t formally ratified by the Manly board.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen a counter offer was put forward at $300,000 less that the board were happy with.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat has disappointed the Trbojevic camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the meantime, the UK Super League have been entertained.<\/p>\n

\u201cWarrington have put forward a two-year offer and we\u2019re at this point in time.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s messy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Trbojevic saga comes after Manly\u2019s season was derailed by uncertainty surrounding Daly Cherry-Evans\u2019 future.<\/p>\n

\u201cRidiculous,\u201d Ginnane said of the Trbojevic contract bungle.<\/p>\n

\u201cManly are not reliable in this area given what happened with DCE.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir reputation in this field is not particularly strong.<\/p>\n

\u201cTom Trbojevic. If you think he\u2019s injury prone or you think his best is behind him, you allow him to go.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is one of your favourite sons. The disrespect.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat you make him an offer, and then you go to the board and reduce it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ginnane believes the situation shows Manly CEO Tony Mestrov has no authority at the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo does that mean Tony Mestrov is powerless?\u201d Ginnane asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is a puppet leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf that is the case, where he can\u2019t make a handshake deal because it\u2019s got to go through to the board.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riccio believes a solution will be reached and Trbojevic will remain with the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he stays. I see what\u2019s unfolding here,\u201d Riccio said.<\/p>\n
