{"id":166457,"date":"2025-09-24T19:17:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-24T19:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/166457\/"},"modified":"2025-09-24T19:17:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-24T19:17:09","slug":"verstappen-to-make-gt3-race-debut-at-nordschleife-in-nls-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/166457\/","title":{"rendered":"Verstappen to make GT3 race debut at Nordschleife in NLS this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has now been officially confirmed that Max Verstappen will make his GT3 race debut at the Nordschleife this weekend in the Nurburgring Endurance Series (NLS).<\/p>\n<p>The four-time Formula 1 world champion will share an Emil Frey Ferrari 296 with Chris Lulham for the four-hour race on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>This comes just two weeks after Verstappen raced a restricted Porsche Cayman GT4 in the NLS to obtain a special licence which allows him to compete in GT3s at the \u2018Green Hell\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autosport.com\/vln\/news\/verstappen-secures-nordschleife-permit-everything-went-smoothly\/10759242\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Verstappen received the licence<\/a> meaning he will be gunning for overall victory for the first time, as part of a move that has been expected ever since his GT4 outing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is my passion to do these kinds of GT3 races too &#8211; I can\u2019t wait,\u201d said the 27-year-old, who won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m passionate about racing, also outside of Formula 1. It\u2019s my hobby to race in other categories than Formula 1.
