Former WBO super-welterweight world champion Tim Tszyu has confirmed major changes to his team, including the appointment of Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech.<\/p>\n

Last week, the 30-year-old announced he had parted ways with his former team<\/a>, including a split from long-time trainer Igor Goloubev in the biggest shake-up of his career to date. Manager Glen Jennings confirmed Tszyu had decided to part ways with himself, Goloubev, S&C coach Dave Barker, cutman Mark Gambin and medic Dr Bill Anseline.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Tszyu revealed that Darcy Ellis, the son of boxing great Lester Ellis, and Mike Altamura would guide him from now on in a complete restructure of his team, with Hall of Famer Fenech, a three-division conqueror, acting as an adviser and mentor when called upon.<\/p>\n

The Sydneysider has labelled them the \u2018Aussie Super Team\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m coming in with the mentality that this is my 2.0,\u201d Tszyu said in an Instagram video.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter my last loss i felt like I needed a change \u2026 with a different game plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my next chapter, this is my time now. I\u2019m coming in with a whole new mindset.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody is going to come on board and witness history.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI am very grateful for what the boys did for me.<\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially my coach Igor. He started with me before I was even professional.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted a little change and I felt I was in the right position to have that change.<\/p>\n

Tszyu, who has a 25-3 (18 KO) record, has lost three of his four most recent bouts, including June\u2019s crushing loss to Sebastian Fundora. After the defeat, Fenech took aim at Tszyu\u2019s team, calling them \u201cclowns\u201d and declared his talent was being \u201cwasted\u201d under their guidance.<\/p>\n

Last week, Fenech said that Tszyu could become a world champion again within nine months if he finds the right trainer, adding that axing Goloubev and Jennings was arguably the most important decision of his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything they\u2019ve been doing has been wrong,\u201d Fenech told Fox Sports Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I\u2019m in Tim Tszyu\u2019s corner for 10 fights against Sebastian Fundora, he wins all 10 of them.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if Tim had the right people in his corner, he\u2019d still be world champion.<\/p>\n
