What once used to be a controversial color combination has in the past couple of years become a chic pairing<\/a> thanks to designers, stylists, and Hollywood style muses like Angelina Jolie<\/a>, Jennifer Lopez, Jodie Turner-Smith<\/a>, and now Scarlett Johansson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Indeed, mixing brown and black is a fashion faux pas no longer; in fact, when styled correctly, few color marriages are more chic.<\/p>\n

This week, as we officially transitioned into autumn, Johansson stepped out in New York City wearing an effortless look that expertly mixed the two dark colors. Up top, she slipped on a chocolate-brown leather blazer, which she layered over a silky black button-down.<\/p>\n

The Black Widow star tucked the top into a pair of tailored brown high-waisted trousers and added on some black accessories to coordinate with her top. These included a woven leather clutch with an elongated East-West silhouette, and pointy pumps.<\/p>\n

Her golden hair was down in wispy waves, and diamond stud earrings, a dainty gold necklace, and warm, coral makeup completed her earthy ensemble.<\/p>\n

ScarJo is in town for her directorial debut<\/a>, Eleanor the Great<\/a>, and her press tour wardrobe has been all class. Yesterday evening, she stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/a> in a black Balmain midi dress<\/a> that she styled with a chunky belt cinching the waist. The surprising accessory nodded to the early aughts, while the rest of her look leaned more Old Hollywood.<\/p>\n

Mixing brown and black, bringing back Y2K chunky belts\u2014whatever Johansson subscribes to sartorially, we\u2019re in.<\/p>\n
