New York\u2019s Tilton Gallery to Close:\u00a0The storied gallery\u00a0announced<\/a>Wednesday that its upcoming exhibition for abstract painter Ruth Vollmer will be its last. The gallery closes eight years after founder Jack Tilton died.<\/p>\n

Esther Schipper Gallery Takes on Lotus L. Kang:\u00a0The Berlin-based gallery, with spaces in Paris, New York, and Seoul, now represents New York\u2013based Kang, who is Canadian. Her practice spans sculpture, photography, and site-responsive installation. Her first solo presentation with Esther Schipper will open in November in Berlin.\u2060<\/p>\n

Ba\u015fak Do\u011fa Tem\u00fcr and Nilbar G\u00fcre\u015f to Join Forces for 2026 Venice Biennale\u2019s Turkish Pavilion:\u00a0G\u00fcre\u015f is known for her poetic, critical, and witty engagement with cultural symbols and social inequalities. Her exhibition will be curated by Tem\u00fcr, with the pavilion coordinated by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts.<\/p>\n

Yan Du Project Names Billy Tang as Artistic Director:\u00a0The London nonprofit Yan Du Project has appointed Tang as artistic director ahead of the opening of its new home this October in a Grade I\u2013listed townhouse on Bedford Square. He begins in the role this month,\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0Hok-hang Cheung for\u00a0ARTnews.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat\u2019s the high estimate<\/a> for the 1944 Pablo Picasso painting\u00a0Buste de femme\u00a0at Christie\u2019s 20th\/21st Century evening sale on Friday. At about $13.6 million, the lot is by far the highest priced on offer during the September sales in Hong Kong<\/a> across the three major houses this week. The next highest priced lots are the 1963 Zao Wou-Ki painting\u00a07.3.63\u00a0(estimate HK$70 million\u2013HK$90 million), also at Christie\u2019s, and two Yoshitomo Nara works\u2014the 2012 painting\u00a0Can\u2019t Wait \u2019til the Night Comes\u00a0at Sotheby\u2019s and the 2000 painting\u00a0Pinky\u00a0at Phillips. Those works are estimated at HK$65 million\u2013HK$85 million and HK$60 million\u2013HK$80 million, respectively.<\/p>\n
