{"id":167970,"date":"2025-09-25T11:13:06","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T11:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/167970\/"},"modified":"2025-09-25T11:13:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T11:13:06","slug":"sources-afghan-telecom-resumes-limited-point-to-point-internet-in-helmand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/167970\/","title":{"rendered":"Sources: Afghan Telecom resumes limited \u2018point-to-point\u2019 internet in Helmand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Afghan Telecom has resumed limited internet services in Helmand through a \u201cpoint-to-point\u201d system, local sources said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The sources from the Taliban\u2019s provincial telecommunications department said the service has been restored not only for public offices and banks but also for families since Wednesday, Sept. 24.<\/p>\n<p>Similar limited point-to-point services have recently been reactivated in Balkh, Kandahar and Nangarhar, according to sources.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes as the Taliban have cut fiber-optic and Wi-Fi internet access in 16 provinces for more than a week, citing efforts to prevent \u201cimmorality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, sources said Taliban officials in Herat instructed local internet providers during a meeting to shut down services every night.
