Already, the exiled NRL star has spoken about potentially working out of the same gym as Australia\u2019s first UFC champion, Robert Whittaker.<\/p>\n
The 2017 Melbourne premiership player has also spent time training recently with both Jimmy Crute and Jono Micallef, both of whom are fighting on this Sunday\u2019s UFC Fight Night showcase in Perth.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd making the UFC is definitely the end goal,\u201d Scott told Fox Sports Australia this week. \u201cBeing a offered a deal with the PFL, that\u2019s a massive opportunity for me. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd I actually think MMA suits me more than every other combat sport.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve done a lot of wrestling, a lot of grappling, and I\u2019m strong for my weight.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy boxing coach, Brian Doyle, also trains both Rob Whittaker and Jacob Malkoun, so if everything goes to plan I\u2019ll head out to Smeaton Grange and get involved with those guys.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it comes to Australian MMA, they\u2019re the top of the tree.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo the plan would be to go out there and train.\u201d<\/p>\n
Scott also praised his recent work with Sunday\u2019s Perth fighters, continuing: \u201cGetting to spar against Jimmy and Jono has been fantastic.<\/p>\n
\u201c(Laughs) Although, first time in with Jono, I didn\u2019t know who he was.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember thinking to myself \u2018geez, who is this guy?\u2019 \u2026 he\u2019s that good. And then finally, they told me he\u2019s a UFC fighter.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re both great blokes and I can\u2019t wait to see them get strong wins this weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pushed on his proposed UFC tilt, Scott continued: \u201cI\u2019m a fast learner, super dedicated and have always worked extremely hard at whatever I do.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also take risks.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a guy who has never shied away from a challenge, regardless of whether people think I\u2019m out of my depth.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn boxing, I haven\u2019t worried about weight.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve fought guys 20 kilos heavier, and backed myself.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd the rewards have come from that.\u201d<\/p>\n
The surprise PFL deal comes as Scott is also in discussions to fight on the undercard of No Limit\u2019s upcoming all-Australian blockbuster between Nikita Tszyu and Michael Zerafa. <\/p>\n
The former leaguie is also looking to take a second bareknuckle fight as early as next January \u2013 and potentially, against former world champ Browne \u2013 after earning a win in last weekend\u2019s new domestic promotion being fronted by Anthony Mundine.<\/p>\n
A former world heavyweight champion, Browne has also made the switch to bareknuckle and only recently earned a strong win in the UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cA fight between myself and Lucas Browne, that would be massive here in Australia,\u201d Scott said. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m definitely keen to help push the sport locally, and try to lure some big names here.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause as brutal as the sport is, I also think it\u2019s the most entertaining.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe way it\u2019s taking off now, it\u2019s really similar to those early days of the UFC.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, it\u2019s goryut that\u2019s what people want to see.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the entertainment business and my job is to entertain.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd that means putting opponents to sleep.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo if I can go NRL, boxing, bareknuckle, UFC, yeah, that\u2019s a life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked how he found his bareknuckle debut, Scott continued: \u201cGoing into it, I had a weird feeling.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere weren\u2019t a lot of emotions, I was just nervous about breaking my hands.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen when I got to the venue and started watching, mate, it\u2019s a brutal sport.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing in the main event, I was out in the change rooms watching all these guys come back busted up, one after the other.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remember thinking \u2018far out, why have I signed up for this?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201c(Laughs) Even when I got into the ring, I looked down and the whole thing was covered in blood.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I\u2019m thinking \u2018f***, this is brutal … but it\u2019s happening\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen I just fell back on my training and did what I did. And I loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Saturday afternoon, Scott\u2019s former NRL team, the Melbourne Storm, are up against Cronulla in the preliminary finals before Penrith then faces Brisbane on Sunday. <\/p>\n
\u201cObviously I\u2019ve got a soft spot for the Storm,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I know Belly (coach Craig Bellamy) will have the boys ready.<\/p>\n
