{"id":170617,"date":"2025-09-26T15:17:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T15:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/170617\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T15:17:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T15:17:07","slug":"digital-planning-service-mymoneysense-to-cease-operations-in-december","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/170617\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital planning service MyMoneySense to cease operations in December"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 MyMoneySense, a digital financial planning service that was launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Manpower and Government Technology Agency, will discontinue its services on Dec 31, 2025, at 11.59pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">According to a notice on its website, the move is \u201cpart of efforts to streamline government financial planning digital services\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">MyMoneySense is an initiative under MoneySense, Singapore\u2019s national financial education programme, which runs courses and provides resources to help Singaporeans manage their money well and make sound financial decisions on their own.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">When The Straits Times checked with some readers, they either did not know of the existence of MyMoneySense or thought it was MoneySense, as did Mr M.S. Leong, 57, a civil engineer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">\u201cIsn\u2019t it one and the same? I didn\u2019t know they were different,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The notice added that there are other planning platforms, such as the PLAN (Plan Life Ahead, Now!) with CPF platform that Singaporeans can go to for their digital financial planning needs. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cpf.gov.sg\/member\/plan-with-cpf?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">PLAN, <\/p>\n<p><\/a>which was launched on July 5, 2025, allows Singaporeans to project their retirement savings and payout, calculate their home purchase budget and assess the affordability of health insurance premiums.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">They can also continue to access financial literacy resources on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneysense.gov.sg\/?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">MoneySense website<\/p>\n<p><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Mr Leon Loh, financial services consultant at Gen Financial Advisory, said: \u201cMoneySense is a good source for financial literacy, especially for the younger folks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Mr Loh reads articles on MoneySense as they provide useful information and are impartial. \u201cThe articles are written in a clear and concise manner. I quite like this style,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In addition, Singaporeans can visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/mylegacy.life.gov.sg\/?ref=inline-article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"gap-x-04 items-center inline text-primary-60 select-auto\" aria-label=\"link\" target=\"_blank\" data-testid=\"custom-link\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular inline\" data-testid=\"paragraph-test-id\">My Legacy@LifeSG<\/p>\n<p><\/a> platform for resources to help them plan ahead for when they lose mental capacity or die.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">They can make arrangements for matters pertaining to their care, welfare and finances.
