MLB analyst reveals Red Sox farm’s decreased rank after promotions of Roman Anthony, rest of Big Three<\/a> originally appeared on The Sporting News<\/a><\/p>\n

The Boston Red Sox\u2019 farm has been elite for many years, cultivating the talents like the Big Three of Roman Anthony, Kristian Campbell, and Marcelo Mayer. However, now that all three have been promoted, the farm has regressed in terms of power.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report\u2019s Joel Reuter believes the Sox\u2019 farm has regressed a bit too<\/a>, as in his ranking, he has them at 12 overall, when they had a preseason ranking of five. However, he still thinks the Sox have some great talent coming up.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Red Sox didn’t fall as far as one might think considering their top three prospects entering the year\u2014Roman Anthony, Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer\u2014all graduated to the majors. A huge breakout performance from Payton Tolle and to a lesser extent Connelly Early and Brandon Clarke have given the organization a welcome influx of up-and-coming pitching talent for the first time in years,\u201d Reuter wrote.<\/p>\n

With the graduation of the Big Three, this fall in rankings was to be expected. Now, All three of them can contribute at the highest level and help the Sox win another title.<\/p>\n

The Sox also still have four prospects in the top 100, including Tolle, Franklin Arias, Jhostynxon Garcia, and Kyson Witherspoon. They also have great talent in guys like Early, Clarke, Dorian Soto, Luis Perales, Juan Valera and Mikey Romero.<\/p>\n

Hopefully the Sox get some more talent to rebuild the farm once again, but what they have shouldn\u2019t be slept on.<\/p>\n
