Singer and former The Voice coach Kelsea Ballerini<\/a> took to social media to ask for some help from her fans. The help wasn’t for herself, but for her beloved dog Dibby.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram Story<\/a> posted on September 24, Ballerini wrote, “Baby boy has a surprise surgery today.”<\/p>\n

Ballerini did not specify what kind of surgery Dibby needed. However, she previously shared that they had learned he had “inoperable cancer in his heart.”<\/p>\n

As Today shared<\/a> on August 28, Ballerini gave fans the news about the diagnosis via an Instagram Story. She noted that Dibby had been with her for nine years, and despite the diagnosis, “He’s not in pain, and luckily it hasn’t spread further.”<\/p>\n

In her new Instagram Story about Dibby needing to have an unexpected surgery, Ballerini added, “We would appreciate all of the big love and prayers and healing energy you can send his way. It’s gotten him this far.”<\/p>\n

When Ballerini initially revealed her dog’s diagnosis, she explained, “We’re going to start him on the ‘big’ meds to try to make sure he can have as many comfortable and happy days (weeks, months) left as possible.”<\/p>\n

She added, “It’s a complex and emotional time. He’s been my baby and my steady for the last 9 years and very much alongside this whole journey with us all.” Ballerini acknowledged she knew her fans cared about him and were sending love and prayers. “He’s wagging his tail right now no doubt saying thank you too,” she shared.<\/p>\n

Late on September 24, Ballerini posted a short update in another Instagram Story. She shared a photo of Dibby with a cone around his neck. She wrote, “He’s home,” and added a praying hands emoji.<\/p>\n

Fans are surely eager to learn more about what prompted the surgery and how he’s doing now. Considering her prior thanks to fans for their prayers and support, she is likely being flooded with lots more in the wake of her news about his surgery.<\/p>\n

The news of Dibby’s surgery comes just weeks after Ballerini and her boyfriend of nearly three years, Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes, reportedly split up<\/a>.<\/p>\n
